Exploding bats?! You can't make this stuff up!

The U.S. Army has been known to implement some seriously wacky stuff during wartime. But exploding bats?! Believe it! They actually had the bright idea of surgically attaching bombs to the little critters and turning them loose over Japan. Oh, the horror!

Here's an excerpt:
"A few of the Bat Bombers found their marks and a good portion of the mock Japanese village was set ablaze. However, many of the bats found other targets. These other targets turned out to be the research facility and its adjoining buildings. (...) One of the adjoining hangars, which just so happened to contain a car belonging to one of the Army Generals, was set ablaze and burned to the ground."

Well, that will show 'em! Beware of the bat, man!
